All contractor licensing is handled by the City of Crown Point Clerk Treasurer's Office.
All contractors, sub-contractors or specialty contractors working within the city limits of Crown Point must be licensed with the City of Crown Point prior to any work commencing.
The following items are required for a new contractor license:
- A check payable to the City of Crown Point
- A Certificate of Liability insurance that is no less than $500,00.00; Workers Comp insurance must be included on the certificate. The certificate holder should be City of Crown Point, 101 N East St., Crown Point, IN 46307
- A completed contractor license application form
- A recorded Lake County (IN) Bond in the amount of $5,000
Your registration is not complete until all items have been received by the City Clerk’s office. If the payment is received, but the bond is not recorded or the Certificate of Insurance and/or Workers Comp is not provided, it will hold up the issuance of the building permit, delay inspections or delay the issuance of final Occupancy.
