Pete Land

Chief Pete Land


Pete Land has served with the police department since 1988. He was assigned to the Patrol Division for 15 years where he was a Shift Supervisor and the Coordinator for the agency's Field Training Program for the new officers. Pete was most recently appointed as Chief of Police in January of 2008. He was Police Chief previously from 2004 - 2006.

Jim Janda

Assistant Chief Jim Janda


Jim Janda has served with the Crown Point Police Department since July, 1997. Jim has worked in Patrol, the Detective Bureau, as a Field Training Officer, and has been the FTO Supervisor. Prior to working in Crown Point, Jim worked at New Chicago Police Department and left the department as a Corporal before coming to Crown Point.

Operations Commander Ryan Patrick


Ryan is currently the Operations Commander for the Crown Point Police Department. As part of his duties Ryan is responsible for the supervision of the Investigations Unit, D.A.R.E., and School Resource Officers. Ryan has served as a patrol officer, patrol shift supervisor, detective and detective supervisor. Ryan graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and has since received extensive training and education in various aspects of criminal investigations and forensics. He is a Member of the Donald L. Melcher FOP Lodge 176.

Patrol Commander Jason Maupin


Jason Maupin is a 25 year veteran of the Crown Point Police Department and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University Northwest in 1993. He has performed various functions throughout the department including Patrol Officer, becoming a member of the Motorcycle Division, working in Investigations, instructing Emergency Vehicle Operations, managing the Evidence/Property Room, and his current assignment of Patrol Commander. As the Patrol Commander, he has worked toward instilling professionalism in the Officers he works with along with trust and compassion toward the Citizens of Crown Point and all of those served. 

Renee Todd

Administrative Secretary Renee Todd


Renee has served with the Crown Point Police Department since 1998. From 1998 until 2005, Renee worked as a dispatcher in the Crown Point Emergency Communications Center. In 2005, Renee was promoted to Office Manager and Administrative Secretary. Renee's duties range from handling all purchase orders, uniform allowance, and citation processing to daily clerical activities.
