About
The Crown Point Plan Commission Board consists of seven (7) members, three (3) elected officials appointed by the legislative body – City Council, and four (4) citizen members appointed by the Mayor. All members of the Board must reside in the jurisdictional area of Crown Point. The Crown Point Plan Commission Board has the responsibility of directing orderly growth and development of approximately sixteen (16) square miles within the corporate boundaries of Crown Point. The Plan Commission accomplishes their duties through the use of a City Planner, Engineering Superintendent and City Attorney to make professional recommendations on any planning matter.
Proper utilization of existing facilities such as sanitary and storm sewers, drainage ways, roadways, utility corridors and proper use of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan and Zoning Map, is of fundamental importance to proper planning. Containing uncontrolled urban sprawl, administering flood plain controls and recognizing the environmental, as well as the economic impact of the land uses, are all-important concerns of the Plan Commission.
All Applications and Packets can be picked up at the Planning Office: 705 Industrial Blvd.
