About Us

The CPVFD was established in 1868 and was one of the first organized fire departments in the area. At this time, the fire department numbered forty members, most of whom were business owners and professional men of the town.

Today, the Crown Point Fire-Rescue department has 28 full-time employees and 50 volunteer firefighters. We have more than 18 pieces of apparatus and equipment that responds from one central fire station. This station serves the City of Crown Point and unincorporated Center Township. Crown Point Fire-Rescue has an I.S.O. rating of 4 for areas within the city. Each day there are 8 Fire & EMS cross trained personnel on duty, and they work at 24/48 rotating schedule.

CPFR also has numerous specialty divisions that range from inspection and prevention to technical rescue. You can find more information in our Divisions section.
