St. Patrick's Day Festivities

Crown Point St. Patrick's Day Festivities


St. Patrick's Day Parade: 

The St. Patrick's Day Parade will take place on Saturday, March 17th 2018 starting at dusk. If you would like to participate in the parade, you can find the application here. 

All Crown Point Resident Businesses - $25

All outside businesses - $50

St. Patrick's Day Food Vendors

The St. Patrick's Day food vendors will be set-up on Joliet St. Saturday, March 17th from 2-9pm. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please see the application here.

All vendors must provide a certificate of liability insurance naming the City of Crown Point as an additional insured and a Lake County Health Dept. permit. Vendor fees are $100 for a 10x10 space. 

Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner

The corned beef and cabbage dinner will be help on March 17th from 3-6pm at the Crown Point Fire Station. Dine-in and carry-out options are available. Meals include corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, bread, and dessert. Reservations will be accepted starting February 1st, 2018. Please call 219-662-3290 or 219-661-2271 to make a reservations. Prices are as follows:

$10 per adult dinner

$9 per senior dinner

$6.50 per kids dinner

$4 per hot dog dinner

St. Patrick's Day Window Decorating Contest

The annual window decorating contest is for Crown Point businesses located in the downtown historic district. The winner of the contest will be announced during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Entrants are required to be available during the parade and for the award presentation.

All windows must be completed by Friday, March 9, 2018 for judging review.

Judging and Requirements:

A parade judging panel will choose first, second, and third place winners. Window displays will receive points based on how well they capture the St. Patrick’s Day theme. In order to appropriately capture the theme your display must include:

  •  The creative use of lighting
  •  The creative use of business products and services
  •  The use of the color green

Note: All entrants are encouraged to go above and beyond the minimal amount of lights and the level of creativity.

St. Patrick's Day Logo Contest

Logo Template

This annual logo contest is for children up to the age of 17. The winner of the contest is invited to be the Jr. Grand Marshall of the 2018 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. All entries must be received by The Mayor’s Office of Special Events, located at 11035 Broadway – Suite E, Crown Point, IN 46307 by March 1, 2018. Any entry received after March 1, 2018 will not qualify.


Each entry must be submitted on the front of the template provided by The City of Crown Point. All requested information must be completed. Information includes, the child’s name, age, guardian’s name, address, phone number, and email.

Logo Requirements:


The logo must include:

  • A St. Patrick’s Day themed picture
  • The color green
  • The words: “St. Patrick’s Day Parade”

1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Winners:

All three winners will be recognized at the March 5, 2018 City Council Meeting. The 1st place winner will be the Junior Grand Marshall during the parade with 30 seats on Molly the trolley for friends and family. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive VIP tickets for their immediate family for special seating to view the parade and a T-shirt the day of the event.
