Erie-Lackawanna Bike Trail Opens.
2010 saw the culmination of several years of planning and construction in the
extension of the Erie Lackawanna bike trail (1.6 miles) open in November.
Coming soon to that location will be a trail head to accent this exciting new
addition to the city.
Ice Rink Returns to Downtown
One of the most favorite activities for was the portable Ice Rink downtown for
everyone to enjoy. We had weather that cooperated to help keep the ice frozen
and many children and adults to enjoy skating.
Sportsplex Improvements.
The city has been working on a Sportsplex master plan and in 2010, we as a city
committed $1.5 million dollars to the renovation of the Sportsplex on North St.
The city also received an anonymous donation in the amount of $1.0 Million
dollars to help these renovations be completed. These renovations will include (2)
new field turf football/soccer fields, completely paved parking lots, new water
features, and improvements to North St. allowing users of the facility to enter and
exit safely
